Russian beauty and Givenchy model Natalia Vodianova, provoked a few hairy expressions last night at the Harper's Bazaar ''Women of the Year' party in London. The model raised her (now infamous) gold Balmain dress (which has been on the cover of seven magazines so far!) to reveal full on primeval hairy legs - euweth! The Daily Mail reports that Natalia was at the event to be honoured as Inspiration of the Year as she helped raise money to build playgrounds for children. But that's not all, apparently this isn't the first time the model's hairy legs have been on show, in August Coco Perez spotted the model sporting hairy thighs in an ad campaign for Forum Jeans. Natalia is however a working mother-of-three, so we can maybe understand that she might not have the time to shave/wax, but we recommend that she had just kept it under the gown to be safe!
Vodianova isn't the first celeb to show off her hairy legs according to StyleList - at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards, actress Mo'Nique lifted her gold gown to also show very hairy legs! *Shock!*  (Maybe it's a gold gown thing?)

Mo'Nique who took home a Golden Globe for her roll in the film 'Precious', said about her hairy legs on US talkshow 'The View' : "I must show America what a real leg looks like . . . because it's too much in the morning, every morning, to shave, to cut, you got Band-aids baby," she said. "I really think hair on a woman's legs is a black woman's thing."

Wow, we might not be actresses or supermodels, but at least we have razors! We're feeling much better about ourselves already!

  2. You've got to be joking! Leave her alone. I can't believe you would exclaim disgust at this. We all have hair and it is natural. It's her body, so she can do what she wants. I'm really glad that a supermodel like her did something like this to make a statement. Good on her.

I conform to society's female hair removal obsession and my legs are hairless as a result. But I really wish I was brave enough to defy this and that society was more accepting to be less concerned with these things. Why do women have to be wax/shave but men don't? All the pain, inconvenience, stubble or ingrown hairs.

Hair removal has reached a point of ridiculousness.

  3. well, hair removal has been a part of my society's ancient culture... we probably are the ones who came up with wax :) so i cannot imagine a woman who would actually WANT hair on her legs... well, don't you shave your legs, if not as often, in the winter too? even if you don't have a boyfriend and not for the possibility of "getting lucky any second" but for yourself and yourself only? i love the look and feel of smooth legs, c'mon... the concept of beauty for self EXISTS...

although i hear you ladies, when you say pain, inconvenience and ingrown hairs... well, easy enough: laser epilation... less than a year, and 3 relatively pain free and relatively inexpensive sessions later, u don't give it a thought again... and no,i'm not getting any commissions lol!

  4. Beauty for self can be just as much a symptom of misogyny and societal conditioning. where do you think individuals' concept of beauty comes from? women shouldn't have to shave anything

  5. Brilliant girls glad to see there are still strong independent women out there! We all have hairs on our legs but why does it seem so repulsive to us/men that we do. I often wear jeans and genuinely forget to shave my legs. My boyfriend slags me but he still loves me for who I am. Comon sisters!!
