Because life's too short for ugly shoes ; )

Would Dorothy want to click her heels and be back in Kansas if she had been to London's Selfridges? Nope, she'd want to definitely be back in the new Selfridges shoe gallery which fully opens on 16th september. With 55,000 shoes in stock at any one time and 4000 shoes on display from 150 brands, Selfridges has got us wishing we had more feet! There are six unique galleries surrounded by eleven designer mini-boutiques, each designed by the respective designer themselves, and each called apartments!! The Louboutin boutique is a replica of his Paris home, right down to the chandeliers and wallpaper! The Tods apartment is a replica of the Tods' CEO villa in Milan and Tamara Mellon recreated her New York apartment for the aptly named Jimmy Choo Apartment. The gallery will also sell Uggs, Rodarte shoes, ballerinas, heels, you name the shoe and it'll be in the shoe mecca - even Lady Gaga's shoemaker, Chau Har Lee has a section aswell!

"Imagine you are in a gallery", says Selfridges' Director of Accessories Sebastian Manes. "From the entrance you see a succession of doorways, and at the end a huge window flooding the space with daylight. Your journey begins at the front, with shoes from the best of the high street. Slowly you begin to travel through different galleries until you reach the end – the couture designer gallery, flanked by Chanel and Louboutin, and a vision of Eden – the new suspended garden at Selfridges. Shoe heaven!"

We think this is a unique experience for all budgets, as there will be famous names from the high street aswell - including Topshop & River Island. With all this to lure you in plus 30 exclusive shoe styles not available anywhere else, we say get your skates on (and swap them for a pair of Loubi's bought while your there!)
